About us

Hello, we're Helen and Clive Tongue and we started our first nursery ten years ago when our son Leo was born. As fully qualified teachers we saw the opportunity to bring a higher standard of professional care to local nurseries.

Our family of nurseries are each run as local nurseries, where the staff get to know each child and parent, and make sure they enjoy their nursery experience, and learn something new every day.

All our nurseries are fully registered with OFSTED and all our staff hold recognised childcare, health and safety, First Aid and Food Hygiene qualifications. We also like to have staff with a wide range of ages as nothing beat a mum's wealth of experience.

 

Please be aware Little Shipmates is experiencing problems with it's normal telephone and internet line. BT are aware of the problem and working to a solution, however the nursery has no internet/email connection at present.
