Settling in

Leaving your child at nursery for the first time is a very emotional experience and one that needs to be handled with great care and sensitivity.

Before attending full or part time, we organise up to 6 taster sessions with you. These are free of charge and  enable you and your child to get to know the key person who will liase closely with you,  the staff team in the room and  give you opportunities to become familiar with the room and the routines.

As your child settles, you will hopefully be able to withdraw and eventually separate from your child during these sessions. Refreshments will be provided in our staff room if you wish to remain on site.

You will be asked to complete a range of forms, which provide us with clear details about your child's health & diet and any concerns you have. as well as two emergency contact numbers incase we cannot get hold of you.

We require you to notify us of any changes  that occur so that our records are kept up to date.

 

Please be aware Little Shipmates is experiencing problems with it's normal telephone and internet line. BT are aware of the problem and working to a solution, however the nursery has no internet/email connection at present. A call divert is in place to the fax machine in the office  as a temporary measure. Posted 20th July 2010
