Our Rooms
At Littleshipmates Day Nursery we have three rooms for the different age groups.
The Red Cabin, caters for our youngest children of 3 months to 2 years and has been designed to provide a homely environment that is fun and stimulating, yet cosy and secure. The room has direct access onto a covered play area which can be used all year.
It is superbly resourced with a wide range of nursery equipment and activities designed to stimulate small enquiring minds!
The daily routine is very flexible, focusing on providing each child with opportunities to explore their world at their own pace and develop early skills as they emerge on an individual basis.
Your child's key person will be very happy to explain the range of activities on offer and how your child will develop through using them. A daily written record is sent home daily so that you are fully informed of how your child's day has gone!
The Green Cabin, catering for children aged 2 years to 3 years has been designed to provide areas for free and structured play, water and sand play, painting, arts and crafts, table top activities, construction activities and quiet reading area. A themed corner provides the children with additional opportunities for imaginative play.
The children have their own garden with a digging area, sand pit, 'Dinosaur World,' role play area, digging area, mark making area and grassed area which they can access throughout the year.
Parents are encouraged to work with staff to provide ideas for planned activities that the children will enjoy.

A parents board can be found in the room for you to see what your child has done during the day.
Observation and assessment records are be kept by the staff for all children. You are encouraged to contribute to these records and have opportunities throughout the year both formally and informally to talk about them with our staff team.
