Independence is actively encouraged at this age and as every child develops at a different speed, staff will offer subtle encouragement whenever needed. At this age children are developing their skill and awareness of numbers, letters, colours and basic reading and writing. We will encourage these skills which will help prepare them for school. Our child centred approach in each room will ensure that your child receives all the support needed to develop confidence, independence and a positive image of themselves and their achievements.
We welcome your ideas and feedback about what your child enjoys at home so that we can plan activities around these.
A parent board can be found outside each room for you to see what your child has done during the day.
Observation and assessment records are kept by the staff for all children. You are encouraged to contribute to these records and have opportunities throughout the year both formally and informally to talk about them with our staff team. Your child's key person will be very happy to explain the range of activities and answer any questions you may have about your child's development and progress.
The Soft Play Room is enjoyed by all children within the nursery. It is a time where children can socialise with each other, develop physical skills and expel some energy!
